We recommend using Mudlet for accessing and playing Nuke 2. This modern client supports

Mud Client

  • UTF-8: Modern and up-to-date keyset that works even with foreign characters. We do have a mini-quest that involves Japanese characters already. So make sure to set your client to UTF-8 mode (Options -> General -> Server Data Encoding: UTF-8 (Recommended).
  • Maps (which we support as well).
  • Sounds and background music (Not ready from our side yet, but we're working on it)
  • Ad-hoc graphics and bars for hit-points and such (also in progress).

Example of the score command using colours.

Setting up the game

  • Make sure you have 'ansi on' to get colours to show.
  • Try 'fancy on' to see our new "book-style" layout for room descriptions.
  • Set the number of rows on your screen using the 'rows' command.
  • Set your favorite 'width' of your screen as well depending on how you setup Mudlet.

Support for visually impaired people

  • Try 'simplify on' to remove bars and ASCII-gfx from the MUD.
